Daren has 40 years real estate experience as an Investment & Developer Principal.

Daren was also educated in the City of London and his early years were spent first in residential Estate Agency, and later as one of the pioneering developers in the massive development that was to become known as The Docklands in London. During this time Daren developed various residential schemes constructing in excess of 280 apartments.

After successfully completing several large residential estates in Australia and Portugal, Daren then founded the Burney Property Group of companies in 1997, building a substantial portfolio of both residential and commercial properties throughout the UK. He is currently CEO of The Burney Group of Property Companies which now specialise in the development of commercial and mixed use schemes which are underpinned by National Covenants in the retail and trade counter sectors.

Between 2008-2012 Daren was CEO and joint Founder of ROM Capital Group with Robert Whitton and spearheaded the expansion of the Group managing an extensive and diverse property portfolio with its Joint Venture with HBOS Uberior.

Daren’s current focus for direct property investment is the acquisitions of land and property and continues to develop the mixed use schemes he has undertaken over the past 20 years.

Recent projects completed include new Starbucks Drive Thru’s in Lowestoft, Fleet, Norwich, Bradford, Kings Lynn , Costa Drive Thru’s in Newark, Bagshot & Mansfield, storage facility in Hull, Greggs drive thru in Mansfield, a CO-OP and Drive Thru in Norwich, Retail warehousing in Dudley,  A12,000 sq ft gym for The Gym Group in Stourbridge, a 56 bed Travelodge hotel in Boston as well as  a number of other Roadside Retail developments.
